Kung Fu

Welcome to the Golden Steel Athletic Association website. We specialize in teaching the neo-classical style of Baat Ying Baat Faat (8 animal 8 methods) kung-fu. Baat Ying Baat Faat is based on various styles of Northern and Southern Chinese Martial Arts. The Founder of this eclectic kung fu style, Allen J. Chinn initially learned Chinese Martial Arts (Choy Li Fut) from his father James Chinn. After many years of study, Allen Chinn combined the kung fu he learned from his father with modern fighting philosophies.

In 1974, Sifu Chinn developed Yee Jong Kune Do (way of the conceptual combination fist). The style Yee Jong Kune Do was dynamic and effective, yet difficult for most students to learn. To address this problem, Sifu Chinn split his style into two distinctly different systems. One style (Baat Ying Baat Faat) focused on traditional techniques, weapons and forms while the other style focused on modern fighting concepts, fighting drills and weapons (Yien Doy Gin Suk). Although Yee Jong Kune Do ceased to be taught as a martial arts style, it exists today as the core philosophy behind everything taught by Sifu Chinn.
